Base Rate Cut

Thursday, 05 Mar 2009 by Matt Ayres | 0 Comments
Base rate cut of 0.5% likely to be the last. In recent weeks, a tsunami of bad newsflow has overwhelmed global equities, which have fallen to multi-year lows. Although we are struggling to identify a catalyst at this time (and maybe that is a further positive signal), technical analysis would suggest that markets have become oversold. For the more tactical (and courageous) investor, the latest sell-off may represent an attractive buying opportunity. Is it time to be greedy when others are fearful?!
